ۚ ۖ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ نُهُوا عَنِ النَّجْوَى ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ وَيَتَنَاجَوْنَ بِالْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ الرَّسُولِ وَإِذَا جَاءُوكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ اللَّهُ وَيَقُولُونَ فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا اللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُ حَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

أَلَمْ

Do not

you see
إِلَى

were forbidden
عَنِ
ani

النَّجْوَى
al-najwa
secret counsels
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يَعُودُونَ
ya'uduna
they return
لِمَا
lima
to what
نُهُوا
nuhu
they were forbidden
عَنْهُ
anhu
from [it]
وَيَتَنَاجَوْنَ
wayatanajawna
and they hold secret counsels
بِالْإِثْمِ
bil-ith'mi
for sin
وَالْعُدْوَانِ
wal-'ud'wani
and aggression
وَمَعْصِيَتِ
wama'siyati
and disobedience
الرَّسُولِ
al-rasuli
(to) the Messenger
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
جَاءُوكَ
jauka
they come to you
حَيَّوْكَ
hayyawka
they greet you
بِمَا
bima
with what
لَمْ
lam
not
يُحَيِّكَ
yuhayyika
greets you
بِهِ
bihi
therewith
اللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaquluna
and they say
فِي
fi
among
أَنفُسِهِمْ
anfusihim
themselves
لَوْلَا
lawla
Why (does) not
يُعَذِّبُنَا
yu'adhibuna
Allah punish us
اللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah punish us
بِمَا
bima
for what
نَقُولُ
naqulu
we say
حَسْبُهُمْ
hasbuhum
Sufficient (for) them
جَهَنَّمُ
jahannamu
(is) Hell
يَصْلَوْنَهَا
yaslawnaha
they will burn in it
فَبِئْسَ
fabi'sa
and worst is
الْمَصِيرُ
al-masiru
the destination
