Taking a bath on Friday is obligatory for every pubescent male Muslim, and cleaning the teeth with the tooth-stick and applying perfume if available
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الغُسْلُ يَوْمَ الجُمُعَةِ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُحْتَلِمٍ، وَأَنْ يَسْتَنَّ، وَأَنْ يَمَسَّ طِيبًا إِنْ وَجَدَ».
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that taking a bath on Friday is confirmed as an obligation upon every pubescent male Muslim who is required to offer the Friday prayer. In addition, he should clean his teeth with Siwāk (tooth-cleaning stick) and the like, and apply any kind of perfume.
