Our noble Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) informs us that close to the establishment of the Hour, the River Euphrates will uncover a treasure of gold or a mountain of gold, meaning the gold will come out as a mountain; and people will fight over it because it is one of the trials. Then he forbids those who witness that incident from taking out of it, because no one will be saved from it.
Perhaps some of those who witness that event interpret this Hadīth in a way that alters its true meaning, in order to justify for himself taking from it, we seek refuge with Allah from trials.
