The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach us the Qur’an in every state, except when he was in a state of Janābah (major ritual impurity)
عن أبي الغَرِيف قال: "أتي علي بوضوء، فمضمض، واستنشق ثلاثا، وغسل وجهه ثلاثا، وغسل يديه وذراعيه ثلاثا ثلاثا، ثم مسح برأسه، ثم غسل رجليه، ثم قال: "هكذا رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم توضأ، ثم قرأ شيئًا من القرآن، ثم قال: هذا لمن ليس بجنب، فأما الجنب فلا، ولا آية".
Translation
‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach us the Qur’an in every state, except when he was in a state of Janābah (major ritual impurity).
Explanation
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to teach and recite the Qur’an to his Companions in all conditions, except when he was in a state of Janābah due to marital relations with his wives.
