Al Mu'min
Meaning
The inspirer of faith
This name is mysterious even for Muslims because "Al-Mu'min" comes from the name "Al-iman" which means to believe, from where comes the name "Al-Mu'minoune" which means believers, it is is the name of the Koran for people who believe in 6 things: the oneness of God, the existence of angels, holy books (Torah, Gospel and Psalms (Zabor) unmodified and the Koran), the prophets, the last day (the day of judgment) and fate its evil and its good. The exact meaning of this name is very difficult to pin down in its original meaning but can be understood from a deeper and more mystical point of view.
This name of Allah is mentioned in the following Quranic verses:
(59:23)
Meditating on Allah's names is a form of worship. Each name reveals an aspect of divine perfection and invites us to reflect on our relationship with our Creator. By understanding that Al Mu'min means "The inspirer of faith", we learn to know Allah better and worship Him sincerely.
It is recommended to call upon Allah by His most beautiful names, as the Quran says: "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them" (Al-A'raf, 7:180). You can use the name الْمُؤْمِنُ (Al Mu'min) in your personal supplications to draw closer to Allah.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah has 99 names, one hundred minus one. Whoever enumerates them (learns them, understands them and acts accordingly) will enter Paradise." (Bukhari and Muslim). Knowing Allah's names means understanding His attributes, His greatness and His mercy. This strengthens faith and helps the Muslim draw closer to their Lord.
