Why do prayer times differ in Time?

Today in Time, Fajr ranges from 06:11 to 06:29 depending on the calculation method (18 min apart), and Isha from 20:02 to 20:35 (33 min). Today, for 10 methods, the angle alone does not decide: a high-latitude rule replaces it ("rule" in the table), which brings the times closer together.

The Five Daily Prayers in Time

Islam prescribes five obligatory prayers each day, and their times in Time follow the path of the sun. Fajr is prayed before dawn, Dhuhr after the sun passes its zenith, Asr in mid-afternoon, Maghrib just after sunset, and Isha once night falls. Each prayer has a time window during which it must be performed.

How Prayer Times Are Calculated

Times in Time are computed from the sun’s position for the city’s exact coordinates. Fajr and Isha depend on the sun’s angles below the horizon, Dhuhr on solar noon, and Asr on shadow length. Several calculation methods exist (Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura, ISNA, etc.) with slightly different angles — we apply the one suited to your country, and you can change it above.

Why Prayer Times Change Daily

Times change daily and differ from one city to another because they depend on latitude, longitude and date. The farther from the equator, the larger the gap between summer and winter. This is why Time has its own times, distinct from the nearby cities listed below.
