Surah Al-Ahzab 33:63 — translation and meaning

ۖ ۚ يَسْأَلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ اللَّهِ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا
Word by Word
Transliteration
Yas'alukan naasu 'anis Saa'ati qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'indal laah; wa maa yudreeka la'allas Saa'ata takoonu qareebaa
Translation
People ask you concerning the Hour. Say," Knowledge of it is only with Allah. And what may make you perceive? Perhaps the Hour is near."
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
O Messenger! The idolaters ask you in denial and rejection, and the Jews also ask you, regarding the final hour: “When will it occur?” Say to them: “The knowledge of the hour is with Allah; I have no knowledge of it.” O Messenger! What do you know, the hour could be near!
