Surah Al-'Ankabut 29:23 — translation and meaning

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَلِقَائِهِ أُولَئِكَ يَئِسُوا مِن رَّحْمَتِي وَأُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

بِآيَاتِ

in (the) Signs
اللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلِقَائِهِ

أُولَئِكَ

يَئِسُوا
ya-isu
(have) despaired
مِن
min
of
رَّحْمَتِي
rahmati
My Mercy
وَأُولَئِكَ
wa-ulaika
And those
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
adhabun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
alimun
painful

Transliteration

Wallazeena kafaroo bi Aayaatil laahi wa liqaaa'iheee ulaaa'ika ya'isoo mir rahmatee wa ulaaa'ika lahum 'azaabun aleem

Translation

And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Those who disbelieved in the verses of Allah and meeting Him on the Day of Judgment, those have lost hope in My mercy, so they will never enter paradise due to their disbelief, and those will have a painful punishment that will await them in the afterlife.
