Surah Al-A'raf 7:190 — translation and meaning

ۚ فَلَمَّا آتَاهُمَا صَالِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُ شُرَكَاءَ فِيمَا آتَاهُمَا فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

شُرَكَاءَ

فَتَعَالَى
fata'ala
But exalted
اللَّهُ
al-lahu
(is) Allah
عَمَّا

above what
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikuna
they associate (with Him)
Transliteration
Falammaaa aataahumaa saalihan ja'alaa lahoo shurakaaa'a feemaaa aataahumaa; fata'aalal laahu 'ammaa yushrikoon
Translation
But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
But when Allah responds to their prayer, and gives them a healthy child as they asked, they ascribe partners to Allah in what He gave to them when Allah is far above having any partner, and is alone in His divinity.
