Surah Al-A'raf 7:200 — translation and meaning

ۚ وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

وَإِمَّا
wa-imma
And if
يَنزَغَنَّكَ
yanzaghannaka
an evil suggestion comes to you
مِنَ
mina
from
الشَّيْطَانِ
al-shaytani
[the] Shaitaan
نَزْغٌ
nazghun
[an evil suggestion]
فَاسْتَعِذْ
fa-is'ta'idh
then seek refuge
بِاللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
إِنَّهُ
innahu
Indeed He
سَمِيعٌ
sami'un
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٌ
alimun
All-Knowing

Transliteration

Wa immaa yanzaghannaka minash Shaitaani nazghun fasta'iz billaah; innahoo Samee'un Aleem

Translation

And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is Hearing and Knowing.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

And If you feel that Satan is bringing you an evil suggestion or stopping you from doing good, then ask Allah for protection and seek refuge with Him. He hears whatever you say, and is aware of you when you seek protection, and He will protect you from him.
