Surah Al-Baqara 2:95 — translation and meaning

ۗ وَلَن يَتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ

قَدَّمَتْ

(of what) sent ahead
أَيْدِيهِمْ

their hands
وَاللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلِيمٌ
alimun
(is) All-Knower
بِالظَّالِمِينَ
bil-zalimina
of the wrongdoers

Transliteration

Wa lai yatamannawhu abadam bimaa qaddamat aydeehim; wallaahu 'aleemum bizzaalimeen

Translation

But they will never wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

They will never wish for death, because of what they have done in their lives: disbelieving in Allah, rejecting His prophets and distorting His scriptures. Allah knows the wrongdoers among them and other people: each person will be given what they have earned.
