Surah Al-Ma'ida 5:113 — translation and meaning

قَالُوا نُرِيدُ أَن نَّأْكُلَ مِنْهَا وَتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُنَا وَنَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ صَدَقْتَنَا وَنَكُونَ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

Transliteration

Qaaloo nureedu an naakula minhaa wa tatam'inna quloo bunaa wa na'lama an qad sadaqtana wa nakoona 'alaihaa minash shaahideen

Translation

They said, "We wish to eat from it and let our hearts be reassured and know that you have been truthful to us and be among its witnesses."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

The disciples said to Jesus, ‘We want to eat from this table, so that our hearts are satisfied about Allah’s perfect power and that you are His Messenger: to know for certain that you have told us the truth about what you have brought from Allah and to be witnesses to it for those people who are not present’.
