Surah Al-Qasas 28:14 — translation and meaning

ۚ وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَاسْتَوَى آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ

أَشُدَّهُ

his full strength
وَاسْتَوَى
wa-is'tawa
and became mature
آتَيْنَاهُ
ataynahu
We bestowed upon him
حُكْمًا
huk'man
wisdom
وَعِلْمًا
wa'il'man
and knowledge
وَكَذَلِكَ
wakadhalika
And thus
نَجْزِي
najzi
We reward
الْمُحْسِنِينَ
al-muh'sinina
the good-doers

Transliteration

Wa lammaa balagha ashuddahoo wastawaaa aatai naahu hukmanw wa 'ilmaa; wa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

Translation

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

When body and vigour grew stronger and peaked, completing the phase of youth, I granted him knowledge and understanding in religion. Just as I rewarded Moses for his obedience, likewise I reward those who do good in every era and place.
