Surah Ar-Rum 30:55 — translation and meaning

ۚ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ كَذَلِكَ كَانُوا يُؤْفَكُونَ

كَذَلِكَ

Thus
كَانُوا
kanu
they were
يُؤْفَكُونَ
yu'fakuna
deluded
Transliteration
Wa Yawma taqoomus Saa'atu yuqsimul mujrimoona maa labisoo ghaira saa'ah; kazaalika kaanoo yu'fakoon
Translation
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
On the day judgement shall occur, the criminals will swear that had not been in their graves except a very short period of time. Likewise they were deluded in the world by denying the truth.
