قَالُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ

Transliteration

Qaaloo sawaaa'un 'alainaaa awa 'azta am lam takum minal waa'izeen

Translation

They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

His people said to him, “Your warning us and not warning us is the same to us, for we shall never believe in you and will never turn away from whatever we are doing.”
