أَوْ تَقُولَ لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هَدَانِي لَكُنتُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ

Transliteration

Aw taqoola law annal laaha hadaanee lakuntu minal muttaqeen

Translation

Or [lest] it say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Or it will attempt to justify itself through the argument of fate and say: If Allah had guided me I would have been one of those who are mindful of him, by fulfilling His instructions and avoiding His prohibitions.
