Surah Hud 11:14 — translation and meaning

ۖ فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَأَن لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

Word by Word

فَإِلَّمْ
fa-illam
Then if not
يَسْتَجِيبُوا
yastajibu
they respond
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
فَاعْلَمُوا
fa-i'lamu
then know
أَنَّمَا
annama
that
أُنزِلَ
unzila
it was sent down
بِعِلْمِ
bi'il'mi
with the knowledge
اللَّهِ
al-lahi
of Allah
وَأَن
wa-an
and that
لَّا
la
(there is) no
إِلَهَ
ilaha
god
إِلَّا
illa
except
هُوَ
huwa
Him
فَهَلْ
fahal
Then, would
أَنتُم
antum
you
مُّسْلِمُونَ
mus'limuna
(be) Muslims

Transliteration

Fa il lam yastajeeboo lakum fa'lamooo annamaaa unzilla bi'ilmil laahi wa al laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fahal antum muslimoon

Translation

And if they do not respond to you - then know that the Qur'an was revealed with the knowledge of Allah and that there is no deity except Him. Then, would you [not] be Muslims?

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

If they do not bring what the Messenger challenges them to – and they are unable to do it! – then the believers should know with certainty that the Qur’ān is revealed from Allah by His knowledge to His Messenger, and that it is not fabricated, and that there is no true god except for Him. Allah asks whether you surrender to Him in devotion after these conclusive proofs?
