ۗ ۚ وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمْ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلًا

ۚ
وَإِذْ

And when
قُلْنَا

We said
لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ
lil'malaikati
to the Angels
اسْجُدُوا
us'judu
Prostrate
لِآدَمَ
liadama
to Adam
فَسَجَدُوا
fasajadu
so they prostrated
إِلَّا
illa
except
إِبْلِيسَ
ib'lisa
Iblis
كَانَ
kana
(He) was
مِنَ
mina
of
الْجِنِّ
al-jini
the jinn
فَفَسَقَ
fafasaqa
and he rebelled
عَنْ
an
against
أَمْرِ
amri
the Command
رَبِّهِ
rabbihi
(of) his Lord
أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ
afatattakhidhunahu
Will you then take him
وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ
wadhurriyyatahu
and his offspring
أَوْلِيَاءَ
awliyaa
(as) protectors
مِن
min
other than Me
دُونِي
duni
other than Me
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
لَكُمْ
lakum
(are) to you
عَدُوٌّ
aduwwun
enemies
بِئْسَ
bi'sa
Wretched
لِلظَّالِمِينَ
lilzzalimina
for the wrongdoers
بَدَلًا
badalan
(is) the exchange
