Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:5 — translation and meaning

وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَائِهِمْ غَافِلُونَ
Word by Word
Transliteration
Wa man adallu mimmany yad'oo min doonil laahi mallaa yastajeebu lahooo ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati wa hum'an du'aaa'ihim ghaafiloon
Translation
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
And there is nobody more misguided than the one who worships an idol besides Allah which cannot respond to his call until the day of judgment. And these idols which they worship besides Allah are unaware of their slaves calling upon them, because they are inanimate and cannot hear, see or understand.
