Surah Al-Ahzab 33:22 — translation and meaning

ۚ وَلَمَّا رَأَى الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا هَذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَصَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا إِيمَانًا وَتَسْلِيمًا
Word by Word
Transliteration
Wa lammaa ra al mu'minoonal Ahzaaba qaaloo haaza maa wa'adanal laahu wa Rasooluh; wa maa zaadahum illaaa eemaananw wa tasleemaa
Translation
And when the believers saw the companies, they said, "This is what Allah and His Messenger had promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth." And it increased them only in faith and acceptance.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
When the believers saw the companies which had gathered to fight them, they said: “This is the test, tribulation and help Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger were true in this, for it has occurred”. And seeing the companies did not increase them except in faith and submission to Him.
