Surah Al-Ahzab 33:66 — translation and meaning

يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِي النَّارِ يَقُولُونَ يَالَيْتَنَا أَطَعْنَا اللَّهَ وَأَطَعْنَا الرَّسُولَا
Word by Word
Transliteration
Yawma tuqallabu wujoohuhum fin Naari yaqooloona yaa laitanaaa ata'nal laaha wa ata'nar Rasoolaa
Translation
The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger."
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
On the Day of Judgement their faces will be turned in the hellfire, and they will say out of severe regret and remorse: “If only we obeyed Allah by doing what He commanded us to and refrained from the things He prohibited us from, and obeyed the Messenger in what he brought from his Lord!”
