Surah Al-An'am 6:79 — translation and meaning
الأنعام · Verse 79 / 165 · Page 137
ۖ إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

to the One Who
فَطَرَ

the heavens
وَالْأَرْضَ
wal-arda
and the earth
حَنِيفًا
hanifan
(as) a true monotheist
وَمَا
wama
and not
أَنَا
ana
I (am)
مِنَ
mina
of
الْمُشْرِكِينَ
al-mush'rikina
the polytheists
Transliteration
Innnee wajjahtu wajhiya lillazee fataras samaawaati wal arda haneefanw wa maaa ana minal mushrikeen
Translation
Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah."
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
I have devoted my religion to Allah Who created the heavens and the earth without any precedent, throwing off idolatry and embracing pure monotheism. I am not one of the idolaters who worship others besides Allah.
