Surah Al-Anbiya 21:43 — translation and meaning
الأنبياء · Verse 43 / 112 · Page 325
ۚ أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
Word by Word
Transliteration
Am lahum aalihatun tamna'ulum min dooninaa; laa yastatee'oona nasra anfusihim wa laa hum minnna yus-haboon
Translation
Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
Do they have gods that will protect them from My punishment? They are not capable of helping even themselves by removing any harm or acquiring any benefit! Whoever cannot help himself, how can he help others? Nor will they be protected from My punishment.
