يَقُولُ يَالَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي

He will say
يَالَيْتَنِي
yalaytani
O! I wish
قَدَّمْتُ
qaddamtu
I had sent forth
لِحَيَاتِي
lihayati
for my life

Transliteration

Yaqoolu yaa laitanee qaddamtu lihayaatee

Translation

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

He will say out of intense regret: “If only I had sent forth good deeds for my life Hereafter, which is the real life.”
