Surah Al-Furqan 25:27 — translation and meaning

وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ الظَّالِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَالَيْتَنِي اتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ الرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًا

Transliteration

Wa Yawma ya'adduz zaalimu 'alaa yadaihi yaqoolu yaa laitanit takhaztu ma'ar Rasooli sabeelaa

Translation

And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Mention - O Messenger - the day the evildoer on account of leaving out following the Messenger (peace be upon him) will bite his own hand out of regret and say, ‘If only I had followed the Messenger and what he brought from his Lord, and I had taken a path with him to salvation.’
