Surah Al-Hijr 15:19 — translation and meaning

وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ

And the earth
مَدَدْنَاهَا

We have spread it
وَأَلْقَيْنَا

and [We] cast

رَوَاسِيَ

وَأَنبَتْنَا

and [We] caused to grow

well-balanced

Transliteration

Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli shai'im mawzoon

Translation

And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

I flattened the earth so that people would dwell on it, and we placed sturdy mountains on it so that it (i.e. the earth) would not shake the people, and I planted in it a variety of crops [...]
