Surah Al-Hijr 15:39 — translation and meaning

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ

surely I will make (evil) fair-seeming

the earth
وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ
wala-ugh'wiyannahum
and I will mislead them
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajma'ina
all

Transliteration

Qaala Rabbi bimaaa aghwaitanee la uzayyinaana lahum fil ardi wa la ughwiyan nahum ajma'een

Translation

[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Iblis said: O Lord, because You misguided me, I will make sins on earth seem attractive to them, and I will lead them all astray from the straight path.
