Surah Al-Jathiya 45:9 — translation and meaning

ۚ وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا شَيْئًا اتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ

Transliteration
Wa izaa 'alima min Aayaatinaa shai'anit takhazahaa huzuwaa; ulaaa'ika lahum 'azaabum muheen
Translation
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
And when something of the Qur’ān reaches him, he takes it as a joke to mock. Those attributed with this quality of mocking the Qur’ān will have a disgraceful punishment on the day of judgment.
