Surah Al-Jinn 72:13 — translation and meaning

ۖ وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدَى آمَنَّا بِهِ فَمَن يُؤْمِن بِرَبِّهِ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا
Word by Word
ۖ
وَأَنَّا
wa-anna
And that
لَمَّا
lamma
when
سَمِعْنَا
sami'na
we heard
الْهُدَى
al-huda
the Guidance
آمَنَّا
amanna
we believed
بِهِ
bihi
in it
فَمَن
faman
And whoever
يُؤْمِن
yu'min
believes
بِرَبِّهِ
birabbihi
in his Lord
فَلَا
fala
then not
يَخَافُ
yakhafu
he will fear
بَخْسًا
bakhsan
any loss
وَلَا
wala
and not
رَهَقًا
rahaqan
any burden
Transliteration
Wa annaa lammaa sami'nal hudaaa aamannaa bihee famany yu'mim bi rabbihee falaa yakhaafu bakhsanw wa laa rahaqaa
Translation
And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
And that when we heard the Qur’ān that guides to what is most upright we had faith in it. Whoever has faith in his Lord will not fear any loss of his good deeds and nor any sin that will be added to his prior sins.
