Surah Al-Jinn 72:14 — translation and meaning

ۖ وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُولَئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا

وَأَنَّا

And that we
مِنَّا
minna
among us
الْمُسْلِمُونَ
al-mus'limuna
(are) Muslims
وَمِنَّا
waminna
and among us
الْقَاسِطُونَ
al-qasituna
(are) unjust
فَمَنْ
faman
And whoever
أَسْلَمَ
aslama
submits
فَأُولَئِكَ
fa-ulaika
then those
تَحَرَّوْا
taharraw
have sought
رَشَدًا
rashadan
(the) right path

Transliteration

Wa annaa minnal muslimoona wa minnal qaasitoona faman aslama fa ulaaa'ika taharraw rashadaa

Translation

And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

And that some of us submit and follow Allah by obeying Him, and some of us go astray from the path of moderation and steadfastness. Those who submit to Allah by following him and doing righteous actions, they are the ones who have sought after guidance and the right way.
