Surah Al-Mulk 67:5 — translation and meaning

ۖ وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِّلشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ

ۖ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
زَيَّنَّا
zayyanna
We have beautified
السَّمَاءَ
al-samaa
the heaven
الدُّنْيَا
al-dun'ya
nearest
بِمَصَابِيحَ
bimasabiha
with lamps
وَجَعَلْنَاهَا
waja'alnaha
and We have made them
رُجُومًا
rujuman
(as) missiles
لِّلشَّيَاطِينِ
lilshayatini
for the devils
وَأَعْتَدْنَا
wa-a'tadna
and We have prepared
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
عَذَابَ
adhaba
punishment
السَّعِيرِ
al-sa'iri
(of) the Blaze

Transliteration

Wa laqad zaiyannas samaaa'ad dunyaa bimasaa beeha wa ja'alnaahaa rujoomal lish shayaateeni wa a'tadnaa lahum 'azaabas sa'eer

Translation

And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

And verily I adorned the nearest sky to the earth with shining stars, making them shoot and repelling with them the satans with them who try to eavesdrop. I have also prepared for them a blazing fire in the afterlife.
