Surah Ali 'Imran 3:197 — translation and meaning

ۚ مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ

Transliteration

Mataa'un qaleelun summa maawaahum Jahannam; wa bi'sal mihaad

Translation

[It is but] a small enjoyment; then their [final] refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

This world is a brief enjoyment that does not last. The destination they will return to on the Day of Judgement will be Hell – what a terrible resting place the fire of Hell is for them!
