Surah Ali 'Imran 3:96 — translation and meaning

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

Transliteration

Inna awwala Baitinw wudi'a linnaasi lallazee bi Bakkata mubaarakanw wa hudal lil 'aalameen

Translation

Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

The first House built on earth for all people to worship Allah was the Sacred House of Allah in Makkah: a House of worship full of worldly and sacred blessings, and guidance for all the worlds.
