Surah An-Naml 27:42 — translation and meaning

النمل · Verse 42 / 93 · Page 380

ۖ ۚ فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَكَذَا عَرْشُكِ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُ هُوَ وَأُوتِينَا الْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ

Muslims

Transliteration

Falammaa jaaa'at qeela ahaakaza 'arshuki qaalat kaanna hoo; wa ooteenal 'ilma min qablihaa wa kunnaa muslimeen

Translation

So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allah].

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

So when the queen of Sheba came to Solomon, it was said to her to test her: “Is this how your throne is?” She answered according to the question: “It is as though it was that”. Allah has granted us knowledge before her and we were submitting to Allah’s order and obeying Him.
