Surah An-Naml 27:52 — translation and meaning

النمل · Verse 52 / 93 · Page 381

ۗ فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَةً بِمَا ظَلَمُوا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

surely is a sign
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
يَعْلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
who know

Transliteration

Fatilka buyootuhum khaa wiyatam bimaa zalamoo; inna fee zaalika la Aayatal liqaw miny-ya'lamoon

Translation

So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

So those are their homes whose walls have fallen on their roofs, and they have remained empty of inhabitants, due to their wrongdoing. In the punishment which has afflicted them due to their wrongdoing is a lesson for people who believe, as they are the ones who take lessons from the signs.
