Surah An-Naml 27:90 — translation and meaning

النمل · Verse 90 / 93 · Page 385

وَمَن جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِي النَّارِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

بِالسَّيِّئَةِ

with the evil
فَكُبَّتْ

will be cast down
وُجُوهُهُمْ

Transliteration

Wa man jaaa'a bissai yi'ati fakubbat wujoohuhum fin Naari hal tujzawna illaa maa kuntum ta'maloon

Translation

And whoever comes with an evil deed - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

And whoever comes with disbelief and sins, for them will be the hellfire in which they will be thrown face first. It will be said to them by way of rebuke and humiliation: “Are you being requited except for the disbelief and the sins you used to commit?”
