Surah An-Nur 24:48 — translation and meaning

وَإِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

مُّعْرِضُونَ

(is) averse

Transliteration

Wa izaa du'ooo ilal laahi wa Rasoolihee li yahkuma bainahum izaa fareequm minhum mu'ridoon

Translation

And when they are called to [the words of] Allah and His Messenger to judge between them, at once a party of them turns aside [in refusal].

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

And if these hypocrites are called to Allah and the Messenger so that the Messenger can pass Judgement between them in matters they dispute among themselves, they will reject his Judgement due to their hypocrisy.
