Surah As-Sajda 32:24 — translation and meaning

السجدة · Verse 24 / 30 · Page 417

ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ

أَئِمَّةً

leaders
يَهْدُونَ

guiding
بِأَمْرِنَا
bi-amrina
by Our Command
لَمَّا

when
صَبَرُوا
sabaru
they were patient
وَكَانُوا
wakanu
and they were
بِآيَاتِنَا
biayatina
of Our Verses
يُوقِنُونَ
yuqinuna
certain

Transliteration

Wa ja'alnaa minhum a'immatany yahdoona bi amrinaa lammaa sabaroo wa kaanoo bi aayaatinaa yooqinoon

Translation

And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

And I made leaders from the Children of Israel whom the people would emulate and follow. They became guides to the truth when they were patient in calling others to Allah and fulfilling the commands of Allah and refraining from His prohibitions, and when they firmly believed in His Ayahs that were revealed to their Messengers.
