Surah Ash-Shura 42:31 — translation and meaning
الشورى · Verse 31 / 53 · Page 486
ۖ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

Allah

وَلِيٍّ
waliyyin
protector
وَلَا
wala
and not
نَصِيرٍ
nasirin
any helper
Transliteration
Wa maaa antum bimu'jizeena fil ardi wa maa lakum min doonil laahi minw wa liyyinw wa laa naseer
Translation
And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
You are not able to save yourselves from your Lord by running away when He wants to punish you. You do not have anyone besides Him to take charge of your affairs nor anyone to help you by removing the punishment if He intends it for you.
