Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:89 — translation and meaning

ۚ فَاصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَامٌ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Word by Word
ۚ
فَاصْفَحْ
fa-is'fah
So turn away
عَنْهُمْ
anhum
from them
وَقُلْ
waqul
and say
سَلَامٌ
salamun
Peace
فَسَوْفَ
fasawfa
But soon
يَعْلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
they will know
Transliteration
Fasfah 'anhum wa qul salaam; fasawfa ya'lamoon
Translation
So turn aside from them and say, "Peace." But they are going to know.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
So ignore them, and say to them whatever repels their evil - this was in Makkah - they will soon realise what punishment they will face.
