Surah Az-Zumar 39:35 — translation and meaning

لِيُكَفِّرَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَسْوَأَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

Transliteration

Liyukaffiral laahu 'anhum aswa allazee 'amiloo wa yajziyahum ajrahum bi ahsanil lazee kaano ya'maloon

Translation

That Allah may remove from them the worst of what they did and reward them their due for the best of what they used to do.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

So that Allah erases from them the worst sins that they used to do in the world, as they had repented from them and had turned towards their Lord, and rewards them according to the best deeds that they used to do.
