Surah Fussilat 41:15 — translation and meaning

ۖ ۖ فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

Transliteration
Fa ammaa 'Aadun fastak baroo fil ardi bighairul haqqi wa qaaloo man ashaddu minnaa quwwatan awalam yaraw annal laahal lazee khalaqahum Huwa ashaddu minhum quwwatanw wa kaanoo bi Aayaatinaa yajhadoon
Translation
As for 'Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
As for the people of Hud, the ‘Ād, together with their disbelief in Allah they showed undue arrogance on earth and oppressed those around them. Having been deceived by their own strength, they said, “Who is there that is stronger than us?” There was no one stronger than them, according to their assumption, so Allah replied to them: “Do these people not know and see that the one who created them and gave them the strength that made them rebellious, is stronger than them?” They would reject the signs of Allah that Hud brought to them.
