Surah Fussilat 41:27 — translation and meaning

فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَسْوَأَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

Word by Word

فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ
falanudhiqanna
But surely We will cause to taste
الَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُوا
kafaru
disbelieve
عَذَابًا
adhaban
a punishment
شَدِيدًا
shadidan
severe
وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ
walanajziyannahum
and surely We will recompense them
أَسْوَأَ
aswa-a
(the) worst
الَّذِي
alladhi
(of) what
كَانُوا
kanu
they used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
do

Transliteration

Falanuzeeqannal lazeena kafaroo 'azaaban shadeedanw wa lanajziyannahum aswallazee kaanoo ya'maloon

Translation

But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

So we will definitely make those who disbelieved in Allah and rejected His messengers suffer from a severe punishment on the Day of Judgement. I will definitely requite them with a punishment for the worst of their actions, i.e. ascribing partners with Allah and sins.
