Surah Saba 34:40 — translation and meaning

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ أَهَؤُلَاءِ إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ

لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ

إِيَّاكُمْ

they were
يَعْبُدُونَ
ya'buduna
worshipping
Transliteration
Wa yawma yahshuruhum jamee'an summa yaqoolu lilmalaaa'ikati a-haaa'ulaaa'i iyyaakum kaanoo ya'budoon
Translation
And [mention] the Day when He will gather them all and then say to the angels, "Did these [people] used to worship you?"
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
O Messenger, remember the day Allah will gather them all, then Allah will say to the angels, to scold the idolaters and rebuke them: “Are these the ones who used to worship you in the worldly life besides Allah?”
