Surah Saba 34:44 — translation and meaning

ۖ وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُم مِّن كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرٍ
Word by Word

وَمَا

And not
آتَيْنَاهُم

We (had) given them
مِّن

كُتُبٍ
kutubin
Scriptures
يَدْرُسُونَهَا
yadrusunaha
which they could study
وَمَا
wama
and not
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalna
We sent
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhim
to them
قَبْلَكَ
qablaka
before you
مِن
min
any
نَّذِيرٍ
nadhirin
warner
Transliteration
Wa maaa aatainaahum min Kutubiny yadrusoonahaa wa maaa arsalnaaa ilaihim qablaka min nazeer
Translation
And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
And I have not give them books which they are reading, which may be a reason for them to pass judgement on the Qur’ān being a lie which Muhammad fabricated, nor did I send towards them, before sending you O Messenger, a messenger who would warn them of Allah’s punishment.
