Surah Ya-Sin 36:37 — translation and meaning

وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ

Transliteration

Wa Aayatul lahumul lailu naslakhu minhun nahaara fa-izaa hum muzlimoon

Translation

And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

An indication for people of Allah’s Oneness is that I take away the daylight as the day draws to an end, bringing the night, as the day withdraws from it, until the people are in complete darkness.
