Surah Yunus 10:29 — translation and meaning

فَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَافِلِينَ
Word by Word
فَكَفَى
fakafa
So sufficient
بِاللَّهِ
bil-lahi
(is) Allah
شَهِيدًا
shahidan
(as) a witness
بَيْنَنَا
baynana
between us
وَبَيْنَكُمْ
wabaynakum
and between you
إِن
in
that
كُنَّا
kunna
we were
عَنْ
an
of
عِبَادَتِكُمْ
ibadatikum
your worship
لَغَافِلِينَ
laghafilina
certainly unaware
Transliteration
Fakafaa billaahi shaheedam bainanaa wa bainakum in kunnaa 'an 'ibaadatikum laghaafileen
Translation
And sufficient is Allah as a witness between us and you that we were of your worship unaware."
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
Their so called gods dissasociate themselves from them, saying that Allah is sufficient as a witness that they were not happy being worshipped by them, nor did they command them to do so, nor were they aware of their worship of them!
