Ihram is the sacred state a pilgrim must enter before crossing the designated Miqat points on the way to Makkah. It involves performing ghusl (ritual bath), wearing the prescribed white garments for men, and making the intention (niyyah) for Hajj or Umrah. From this point, certain actions become prohibited, such as cutting hair, using perfume, and hunting. The pilgrim begins reciting the Talbiyah, declaring their response to Allah's call.
