HajjMina (tents) and Jamarat BridgeDays 11, 12 (and optionally 13) of Dhul Hijjah

During the Days of Tashreeq (11th, 12th, and optionally 13th of Dhul Hijjah), pilgrims return to Mina and stone all three Jamarat each day — the small (Jamrat al-Ula), medium (Jamrat al-Wusta), and large (Jamrat al-Aqabah) — with seven pebbles each. After stoning the small and medium pillars, pilgrims face the Qiblah and make dua. On the 12th, pilgrims may leave Mina before sunset (Nafr al-Awwal), or stay for the 13th day for additional reward.

Duas & Supplications

Transliteration

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illallah, wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil-hamd

Translation

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.

Practical Tips

  • 1Stone the three pillars in order: small, medium, then large.
  • 2Make dua after stoning the small and medium pillars, but NOT after the large one.
  • 3If leaving on the 12th, depart before sunset — otherwise you must stay for the 13th.
  • 4Perform Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf) as your last act before leaving Makkah.
