ۚ ۖ وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَقَالَ لَا غَالِبَ لَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنِّي جَارٌ لَّكُمْ فَلَمَّا تَرَاءَتِ الْفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّنكُمْ إِنِّي أَرَى مَا لَا تَرَوْنَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللَّهَ وَاللَّهُ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ

ۚ
ۖ
وَإِذْ
wa-idh
And when
زَيَّنَ
zayyana
made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
الشَّيْطَانُ
al-shaytanu
the Shaitaan
أَعْمَالَهُمْ
a'malahum
their deeds
وَقَالَ
waqala
and he said
لَا
la
No (one)
غَالِبَ
ghaliba
(can) overcome
لَكُمُ
lakumu
[to] you
الْيَوْمَ
al-yawma
today
مِنَ
mina
from
النَّاسِ
al-nasi
the people
وَإِنِّي
wa-inni
and indeed, I am
جَارٌ
jarun
a neighbor
لَّكُمْ
lakum
for you
فَلَمَّا
falamma
But when
تَرَاءَتِ
taraati
came in sight
الْفِئَتَانِ
al-fi-atani
the two forces
نَكَصَ
nakasa
he turned away
عَلَى
ala
on
عَقِبَيْهِ
aqibayhi
his heels
وَقَالَ
waqala
and said
إِنِّي
inni
Indeed, I am
بَرِيءٌ
barion
free
مِّنكُمْ
minkum
of you
إِنِّي
inni
Indeed, I
أَرَى
ara
see
مَا
ma
what
لَا
la
not
تَرَوْنَ
tarawna
you see
إِنِّي
inni
indeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhafu
[I] fear
اللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
وَاللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
شَدِيدُ
shadidu
(is) severe
الْعِقَابِ
al-'iqabi
(in) the penalty
